Telehandler brands we buy

YG buys all major telehandler brands across all capacities and configurations, including:

What affects your telehandler valuation?

Model and Capacity
High-demand models (e.g. Merlo 30.8, Manitou 3T range) attract stronger offers due to buyer depth in the market.

Hours on the machine
Lower hours = higher value. Under 3,000 hours is considered low for a telehandler.

Attachments Included
Pallet forks, jibs, work platforms and buckets add measurable value — list them all.

Compliance Status
A machine compliant to AS1418.19 with current documentation commands a premium. Non-compliant machines are still considered - we factor in inspection cost.

Service History
Log book and service records reduce buyer risk and support higher valuations.

10-Year Major Inspection
Completed inspection with documentation significantly increases buyer confidence and offer value.

NDT Crack and Corrosion Test
Certificate of NDT testing is a positive indicator of machine integrity — valued by YG and future buyers.

Condition and Presentation
Full respray, clean cabin, serviced and detailed machines receive stronger offers than unserviced machines.

Should I do a Major Inspection before selling?

This is the most common question YG receives from telehandler owners. The honest answer: it depends on the machine's age and how close it is to the 10-year threshold.

Machine Approaching 10-Year Inspection

If your telehandler is within 12 months of its 10-year major inspection, completing the inspection before sale typically returns more value than the cost. A fully compliant machine with fresh documentation sells faster and for a higher price. YG can carry out the inspection and purchase the machine in a single transaction.

Machine with several years of compliance remaining

If the machine is compliant for several more years, an inspection before sale is generally not necessary. The compliance certificate is your selling point - make sure it is current and documented.
Non-Compliant Machine
YG still buys non-compliant telehandlers. Our offer will reflect the cost of bringing the machine into compliance, but you avoid the effort and delay of managing that yourself.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    What is my telehandler worth?

Telehandler values in Australia vary significantly by brand, model, hours and compliance status. A 2018 Merlo 30.8 in good condition with current compliance typically ranges from $65,000 to $95,000 depending on hours and attachments. The best way to find out is a written valuation from YG — free and within 24 hours.

Will you buy an older telehandler with high hours?

Yes. Age and hours are factors but not disqualifiers. A well-maintained Merlo or Manitou with 6,000 hours and current compliance can still attract a strong offer. Condition and documentation matter more than hours alone.

    Do you buy rotational telehandlers?

Yes. Magni, Manitou MRT and other rotational models are considered. These are specialist machines and we assess them case by case.

Can I sell a telehandler with no log book?

Yes. Log book and service records support a higher valuation but their absence does not prevent a purchase. We will assess the machine on its physical condition and compliance status.
